WIOA Services

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides a national workforce preparation and employment system designed to meet the needs of the nation’s businesses and the needs of job seekers and those who want to further their careers.

In addition to various employment services, WIOA can assist with tuition, books, fees, required supplies, and other support services for training, such as transportation costs through mileage reimbursements and childcare assistance. All training programs must be in demand occupations and on the state approved eligible training provider list, which can be found at www.illinoisworknet.com.

A variety of criteria are used to determine eligibility for services in three main categories: Youth, Adults, and Dislocated Workers. However, all WIOA participants must be a citizen of or authorized to work in the United States and registered with Selective Service, if a male over 18 years of age. Veterans receive priority for service.
